DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY OF THE ACTIONS SEEN IN THIS VIDEO WITHOUT PROPER TRAINING AND SUPERVISION. NEVER TOUCH ANY PART OF THE INTERNALS WHILE POWER IS FLOWING THROUGH A PRINTER..
PROBLEM description: Everything happened very suddenly a few years ago and I haven't tried to fix those issues since. Now armed with a bit of extra time I'd like to try and get my printer back up and running.
The LCD turns on, the case fan spins up, and the hot end LED dimly turns on, but no communication is occurring between the LCD and main board. The result is no movement of any motors and no heat to the hot end or hot bed. Additionally, no communications occur through the serial port either.
In this video I have removed the bottom tray and fan cable, checked the integrity of all wires coming from the LCD, and checked the voltage at various positions when turned on.
I have some uncertainties: first, are all voltages what they should be? Second, are all LCD pin connectors in their proper position (please see red and black single pin LCD connectors towards end of video)? 3rd, are all board lights on that should be on? 4th, did I check the right connection points for testing voltage? 5th, the solid state relay lights never come on and no voltage was ever seen across two of the terminals, why?
Any and all help you can provide on this issue would be much appreciated!
