Character change problem - Bleach Brave Souls

I uninstalled the game and left it overnight. Today in the afternoon I got a chance (during lunch) to install the game again. Installed and still never worked. Uninstalled it and left it for 10 minutes. Installed again.
After linking data the game allowed me to play without the major download. So I went straight into Co-op (each screen change took around 30 seconds) and tried changing character. I was able to choose a different character but still did not change.
Turned device off and on again. Loaded up the game but this time there was the usual major download.
After the major download I turned device off and on and loaded up the game. Went into Co-op and it allowed my to change the character after hesitating for me to choose.
It's fine now. I have Ichigo for Co-op set. If it screws up now I don't care 😅
