Tutorial: Restoring a Photograph in Photoshop, Step by Step
Let's restore a damaged photograph in Photoshop step by step. I'll explain the entire process, and we'll transform this quite damaged photograph into a restored and improved one.
Here are the steps:
1. Convert the layer to a Smart Object.
2. Use the Healing Brush tool. This tool works by selecting a point with the Option or Alt key, and it will blend the brushes.
3. Use the Spot Healing Brush tool, which works automatically (you don't need to select a point).
4. Adjust the photograph's settings using the Camera Raw filter.
Remember, I'm doing this quickly. Be patient; restoring photos takes time, but you can do it!
Tips:
Make the brushes larger or smaller. On a Mac, hold Control, Option, and click and drag. On a PC, hold Alt, right-click, and click and drag.
-Remember that you can use the mode as normal or replace.
-Also, remember to select whether you want Photoshop to generate the sample on the current layer, the current layer and the layer below, or all layers.
