WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 took place on February 21, 2021, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Elimination Chamber is a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the professional wrestling promotion WWE. The event was created in 2010, with its inaugural event taking place on February 21, 2010, replacing No Way Out. The concept of the event is that the main matches are contested inside the Elimination Chamber; One of these matches typically features the WWE Championship being defended, while the other is usually for the World Heavyweight Championship (the two titles were unified in December 2013).¹ The event's name was selected after WWE allowed fans to choose through a poll on its official website and was selected over "Heavy Metal," "Battle Chamber," "Chamber of Conflict," and the original name, "No Way Out."² Since its inception, each event has been held in an indoor arena, with all taking place in the United States. In 2015, the event was replaced by Fastlane as the February pay-per-view.³ However, it was later announced that the event would take place on May 31, 2015, and would be broadcast exclusively on the WWE Network in the United States and on pay-per-view elsewhere.⁴ The event did not occur in 2016 but returned in 2017 as a SmackDown Live brand event for the first time. The 2018 edition was a Raw brand event and included the first-ever women's Elimination Chamber match, as well as the first-ever seven-man Elimination Chamber match. In 2019, Elimination Chamber became a joint event for both brands.
