In this video tutorial, we shall be making a very simple stainless-steel ring out of a welding rod. We are only going to use common hand tools, no specialized jewelry equipment, only lots of time. The longest procedures are flattening, filing and polishing.
Annealing metal is to heat it up to red hot then cool it slowly for carbon steels, stainless steels and mild steel, for other metals the speed of which it's cooled isn't important, try to anneal the steel regularly because hammering it will work-harden it and make it harder to shape it.
