Kugoo M4 Pro 2021 Updated REVIEW + Teardown
IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!
THE 2021 Gen. 1 GENERATION WITH A 13.5 Ah BATTERY HAD A TECHNOLOGICAL DEFICIT IN THE STEERING COLUMN, WHICH PERIODICALLY CAUSED METAL TO BROKEN AT THE BASE OF THE CLAMP.
The Kugoo M4 Pro with 13 and 18 Ah batteries now comes with a reinforced steering column, Gen. 2, featuring an additional weld and internal reinforcement.
The 13.5 Ah model is currently temporarily unavailable for sale, or is being sold with the knowledge of a defect, which could result in injury!!!!
February 2021 brought us the updated (restyling) Kugoo M4 Pro electric scooter from the Jilong factory.

We did a comparative review with the previous generation model and also disassembled the Kugoo M4 Pro 13.5 Ah Geelong electric scooter.
What our comrades from China changed and improved:
1. Removed the power indicators (nameplates, gauges). A practical solution for the future in case of changes in legislation regarding electric scooters, electric vehicles, power, and driver's licenses.
2. The handlebar folding mechanism now features a threaded lock.
3. Changed the steering column mounting mechanism, removing the silly bolt that constantly needed to be tightened and replacing it with two locknuts and a heavy-duty three-point clamp.
4. Replaced the battery case with plastic instead of film.
5. Added a battery fuse.
6. Added a booster at the attachment point for the folding mechanism and deck.
7. All the wires are now softer, which will increase their service life.
Great job, guys, and they're steadily improving the quality of their products.
For now, these changes are available on the 13.5Ah model, but they'll definitely be available on the 17Ah and 18Ah models a little later – we'll be waiting.
