In this video I will show you how to create a virtual intercom using Voicemeeter Banana. You can use this for various applications whenever you have someone sitting next to you, but this tutorial is aimed at flight simulator pilots who want to fly together online on a online flying network like VATSIM. The aim is to recreate a realistic intercom with two USB headsets as found in real world aircraft with noise cancelling headsets. With these intercoms, pilots can hear themselves, can hear the other pilot, both can hear Air Traffic Control audio, and both can separately transmit.
What to achieve and where to find it in the video:

What to add in the Macrobuttons application for the push-to-mute function:
Request for button on:
strip(0).mute=1
Request for button off:
strip(0).mute=0
Strip 0 is the left 'audio strip', the audio device most left. Strip 1 is the one next to it etc.
USB headsets used (not the microphone you are hearing! I'm using the Blue Snowball for that):

-- HOW TO ASSIGN TWO KEYS TO ONE JOYSTICK BUTTON --
👉👉 FSUIPC method:
1 - Go into FSUIPC, go to the Buttons & Assigments menu, and assign a button of the Captain's joystick for a key press, for example Scroll Lock.
2 - Look in the FSUIPC5.ini file (located at e.g. C:\Prepar3D V4\Modules ) under [Buttons] and look for the new button, it should look like this:
39=R4,1,K145,8 {Key press: ScrL}
3 - Temporary copy this code to another text file and close FSUIPC5.ini
4 - Assign the same button, but now to a different key press, for example CTRL+L.
5 - Now open FSUIPC5.ini again, look for the new button, and under that button put back your previous assignment of Scroll Lock. Make sure you you change the sequential number, so if your last button is '39=', your next button should be '40='
6 - Now it could look like this:
39=R4,1,K82,10 {Key press: ctl+R}
40=R4,1,K145,8 {Key press: ScrL}
This means button 1 of joystick R4 now sends out Ctrl+R (K82,10) and Scroll Lock (K145,8) when its button is pushed.
7 - Now repeat the same for a button on the first officer's joystick, but instead of using Ctrl+L, use Ctrl+R so you can set the separate Push To Mute buttons in Voicemeeter.

Get a free program like Voicemacro to assign a another key press when a key is pushed
👉👉 My assignments in FSUIPC5.ini under [BUTTONS]:
1=R0,1,K145,8 {Key press: ScrL}
2=R0,1,K76,10 {Key press: ctl+L}
3=R4,1,K82,10 {Key press: ctl+R}
4=R4,1,K145,8 {Key press: ScrL}
YOU CANNOT JUST COPY THIS! You need to make sure you have selected the right joystick in the first part of the button code. R0,1 codes for button 1 on one of my joysticks, and R4,1 codes for button 1 on one of my other joysticks, but your joystick identification number might be different! Also make sure the sequential order of buttons is correct! 1=, 2=, 3= etc.
The last part of the code you can copy though: K145,8 codes for Scroll Lock, K76,10 codes for Ctrl+L and K82,10 codes for Ctrl+R.
