Why Did Sith Become Ugly After Using The Dark Side?
The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural, however, good looks were seldom one of them. While Sith could hide the drastic effects the dark side had on the body, few Sith actually did this. Darth Revan argued that resisting the transformative effects of the force was a Jedi trait while Darth Plagueis the Wise argued it was an illness no true Sith would wish to be cured of. The biological body of the dark sider was not designed to channel the raw energy of the dark side, with their cells soon becoming aged and weathered much like a victim of radiation. If a Sith became powerful enough, their flesh would cease to exist as was the case for Darth Nihilus and Vitiate. Darksiders often wore their dark side deformities and degradation of their flesh as a badge of honour, showcasing to other sith and Jedi their sheer power in the force.
