In this episode of the DAX programming language course, we'll learn about the PREVIOUSMONTH function, a fundamental function in Time Intelligence within Power BI. It allows us to retrieve data from the previous month directly from the timeline.
📌 What we'll learn:
What the PREVIOUSMONTH function is and how it works.
How to compare performance between the current month and the previous month.
Creating metrics for differences and percentage changes between two consecutive months.
💡 Notes:
You must have a Date Table enabled.
This function isn't limited to numbers; it can be used with any metric (sales, profits, expenses, etc.).
It can be combined with IF or BLANK to hide results when no data exists for the previous month.
