Alpine crested newt (Triturus carnifex) or Italian crested newt - Part 2
In this video, I show you how I returned an Alpine crested newt (Triturus carnifex) or Italian crested newt to the wild. This rare and beautiful tailed newt belongs to the true salamanders and is native to the Alps and the Apennines. I have released it into a suitable piece of forest and hope that it will thrive and reproduce there. Take a look at how it moves in the forest floor and shows its characteristic crest.
