Sketching a face in Procreate using a photo - iPad Pro / Apple Pencil - SKETCH #2
In this video I’m sketching a face of a girl in Procreate using an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. I am using the Unsplash photo library app to show the photo on the left as I sketch. In this sketch I am using quick sketching techniques to capture the overall shapes and outlines of the girl’s face. I then work on the details of the face before moving on to the shading and final details. I use the one modified chalk brush in Procreate to sketch all of the line work. I have edited to pressures and way the tilt works to replicate the way I use a traditional charcoal pencil. For lighter areas of shading I tilt the pencil to achieve softer shadows. This sketch was completed in about 10 minutes and was edited to reduce the time. I am sketching from a reference photo of a girl from Unsplash website.
