Welcome to my review 10B where I talk about Bottle fill level, neck pour and other similar topics and I discuss how and why it affects our experience with a whisky in regards to smell and taste and what other factors are at play that also affect our senses
Coming up next in review 10C I will be comparing the Springbank 10yr 46% from Review 10A to my choice of comparison which is the blended malt Campbeltown Loch.
In addition to this there is also a public vote out now (go to the posts tab of my channel to vote), the winning bottle will also feature in the 10C comparison episode

Here are the 3 choices for the public vote:
1. Kilkerran 12yr 46% (OB by Glengyle)
[What could be argued to be the ‘standard’ release of Campbeltowns Kilkerran, this is matured in 70% ex-bourbon and 30% ex-Sherry casks, bottled on 30/05/2025]
2. Glen Scotia 12yr 46% (OB by Glen Scotia)
[A bottling of a revamped 12 yr old Glen Scotia, also arguably the ‘standard’ release from the distillery, matured in 1st fill ex-bourbon barrels, bottled on 24/07/2025]
3. Springbank 10yr Local Barley 55.2% (OB by Springbank)
[Produced from the heritage barley variety Bere sourced locally from near the distillery.
In the same way as the standard 10yr it is matured in 60% ex-bourbon and 40% ex-sherry casks, bottled on 17/10/2025]

Would I buy this same bottle again?
Would I buy a similar bottle again?
Would I buy from the same distillery/bottler again?
