The Case for Walkability (against the car)

Let’s encourage a lifestyle that enables more walking. It can be quite challenging to do in America but it is achievable!

Simply put - Walking is so fundamental to the human experience. The only people who don’t enjoy walkable cities are people who’ve never lived in walkable cities.

The damage that has been done to the livability of American cities because of our decision to design cities for cars instead of people is almost irreparable.

I give a real life example in Houston. Which is widely considered as the sprawliest city with weird city planning, no zoning and very little walkability. Is Houston walkable? Yes, in pockets.
