In this tutorial, we present an animation of temperature changes in the layers of a PV cell and the Phase Change Material (PCM) placed at the bottom to manage heat. Using ANSYS 2024 R2, we simulate the cooling effect of the PCM on the PV cell, showcasing how the temperature fluctuates as heat is absorbed by the PCM and undergoes phase change.

We walk you through the complete simulation process, starting from geometry creation in ANSYS DesignModeler to generating the mesh in Workbench Meshing with hexahedral elements. Then, we use ANSYS Fluent to simulate the heat transfer and phase change behavior.
