A unique way to wash sheep
These farmers have a unique method for washing sheep. Do you know what's even more effective? Throw the sheep into the salty sea. The salt content helps the sheep shed pesky parasites and bacteria from their bodies. Sheep and rams can swim, but if they aren't shorn, their wool gets wet, and due to their weight and hypothermia, they drown. Farmers supervise them, so the risk of drowning is virtually zero. Regular bathing like this is important for ensuring the quality of the wool. But what if there's no water nearby? Farmers create artificial pools called "sheep dip." This is a special water mixture containing a liquid mixture of insecticides and fungicides.
Farmers and shepherds use this to protect their flocks from external parasites, such as scabies mites, aphids, and lice.
