"SD1.4" is the current SD 2.0 sd-v1-4.ckpt
"SDXL 0.9 Base" and "SDXL 0.9 Refiner" are the two new SDXL models. The base is intended to be the primary model, and the refiner is used on the output of the base to tweak details. In this case, the refiner was used independently. Unfortunately, I can't run this 2-pass rendering in Deforum as the extension dos not yet fully support SDXL.
As seen here, the refiner is more focused on shading and sharpness.
"SDXL 0.9 Base fp16" is the base model converted to 16-bit floating point values rather than the 32-bit. The models are half the size, use half the memory, and there is very little, if any, appreciable difference between the two.
The SDXL Base seems to create a slightly more detailed and dimensional image. Still, it's very slight, and fuzzier input is multiplied by interpolation, so all but the "Refiner" look overly fuzzy. "Refiner" also seems to be less affected by the color and gamma damage done by interpolation.
These videos have been modified with a smoothing algo and nominally adjusted to compensate for the darkness caused by interpolation.
