Fast & Efficient 3D Scan of an Airplane feat AESUB
3D Scanning of large-scale Objects in their entirety poses a unique set of challenges for any 3D Digitizing Solution. Getting accurate 3D data in a fast and reliable manner is key in a lot of applications and industries, especially aerospace. For this special project we teamed up with our friends from AESUB to help break a world record. The airplane was completely hand-built, with no CAD or any other digital measurements. To improve the design and achieve greater speed, a Scan-to-CAD workflow is an essential solution in order to accomplish a world-record attempt. The ideal companion for this special attempt is obviously the FreeScan Trak Pro2 as it greatly increases the efficiency of scanning large, complex volumes and achieves the best possible accuracy for the ultimate 3D data set. To improve the Scan workflow and even enable us to digitize the windows, a variety of AESUB products were used.
