The Destroyer 4 - possibly the most powerful Lego band gun on YouTube
Based on the Destroyer 3 but with a totally redesigned trigger that enabled me to shoot it with up to 20 bands.
After initial tests on a chocolate tin with 8 bands and a lego house and big block of solid lego bricks with 12 bands I strengthened the projectile and went in search of tougher things to shoot at.
The targets were a pile of bricks, a chipboard shelf, a can of coke and an aerated concrete block.
Should you decide to try and build one of these for yourself please be extremely careful as some huge forces are involved and it should be treated with the same caution as a shotgun with a dodgy trigger!
In response to all the cynics out there:
1. Yes the shots were at relatively close range (about 3-4 feet). It is not an accurate gun so it was easier to stay close rather than messing about with aiming.
2. No, none of the shots are faked.
3. No, the block wasn't already cracked.
4. If you doubt the above get yourself twenty No. 75 rubber bands and try stretching them simultaneously. Only then will you appreciate how much force is involved.
Also, as videos with Lego attract the attention of children, please don't take it personally if I remove any comments that include swear words.
