This decree aims to regulate, from an environmental and sanitary perspective, the comprehensive management of waste generated in healthcare and other activities.
For several decades in Colombia, it has been necessary to structure and implement a regulatory framework to address concerns about negative environmental impacts. These impacts stem from a lack of knowledge on the subject and insufficient resources for implementing sound sanitary and environmental practices, a consequence of development and economic growth.
