X-rays (bremsstrahlung) are produced when fast electrons bombard the metal anode of a radio tube.
X-rays are electromagnetic waves in the range between ultraviolet and gamma radiation. Consequently, an X-ray machine is a source of ionizing radiation, a significant overdose of which leads to the destruction of DNA and RNA chains.
I tried a 1C21P. It also emits fairly good radiation at sufficient voltage, but the anode melted when I turned it on a second time, so I couldn't take any images.
