It's 2021, so speech to text must be mastered by now right? So in this review we pit the AI super giants Watson and Google to see which has the best speech to text API.
ACCURACY
Both aren't super AI yet, but Watson takes a slight lead.
EASE OF USE
Watson is probably simpler to use as it's just one CURL command.
DOCUMENTATION
Google dominates Watson here. Expect broken links and probably lack of support in a few years with IBM.
PRICE
Watson wins on the free tier with 600 mins free per month compared to Google's measly 60 minutes. But, Google is slightly cheaper when it requires payment.
SPEED
Google is 2x faster than Watson.
OVERALL
They're both not great for 2021 standards, so if you're hacking around Watson is the way to go as you get free minutes without a credit card, but if you're looking to get CV credits then Google Cloud experience is best.
