Join Site Managers Luke Mason and Chris Sharples on a behind the scenes tour of Crossrail's Liverpool Street station to see the progress made so far.
Liverpool Street station is undergoing major redevelopment to increase capacity, improve accessibility and upgrade interchanges as part of the building of Crossrail. The new station and Crossrail’s services will help ease overcrowding and support economic growth in the area.
Crossrail will open in phases. From Liverpool Street, services will interchange with London Underground’s Northern, Central, Metropolitan, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, connections to Stansted Airport and Southend Airport and National Rail services.
The station will provide new entrances and ticket halls at both Liverpool Street and Moorgate and new longer platforms and interchange routes through the station.
The new ticket halls will relieve congestion, provide step-free access and seamless interchanges for the people who live, work and travel through the area.
From 2019 at peak times, Crossrail trains will run every 2.5 minutes in each direction. Direct services will run to Heathrow, Reading, Abbey Wood and Shenfield.
