Pokémon Sprites Were Made Before The Artwork
Generation 1 Pokémon sprites look different to the Ken Sugimori artwork and the reason is because they were made first. When Pokémon Red and Green were being made the Pokémon sprites were made before the Pokémon artwork drawn by Ken Sugimori.
