NEC = Nonemployee Compensation
Used to report payments of $600+ to independent contractors, freelancers, and service providers.
1099-MISC / Reports various types of miscellaneous income such as: Rents, Royalties, Prizes and awards, Medical and health care payments, Crop insurance proceeds, Attorney payments (certain types)
1099-INT / Reports interest income, such as: Bank interest, Interest from brokerage accounts, Treasury interest, etc.
