How Fractional Shares Work (with Webull!)
Webull finally has fractional shares! It’s been years of waiting but they are here. Today lets talk about what fractional shares are, why they are appealing, and what they look like within Webull!
🧩Fractional shares are a really amazing thing but can be taken for granted. I didn’t realize how much I liked them until I noticed some of the investing platforms I use still don’t do fractional share investing. Until very recently that included Webull! Without fractional shares, you have to invest based on the current price of a whole share of a company. If Brendan Fitness and Money was a company and our share price was $200, you wouldn’t be able to invest until you had at least $200. And if you had $300, you would only get to buy 1 share. Kind of an inconvenient way to do things.
💸💨Thankfully fractional shares have come to the rescue! They allow you to invest in a company with basically any amount of money you have whether or not that makes for a whole share. You can buy 11.25 shares or 9.67 or 1.5 or anything you desire! Your $300 to invest in Brendan Fitness and Money would buy you 1.5 shares, no fuss, no waiting. It’s a logical way to do things in my opinion. There are also pretty massive benefits when it comes to how dividends work with fractional shares! You get to reinvest a LOT more often which help you to buy more ownership in the company, get more dividends, get even MORE ownership, and on and on in a wealth building loop! At the end of the video I go over the 3 things you have to do to get all the free shares from Webull! Webull is famous for giving away free shares to it’s users but I have noticed a lot of people missing steps when setting up their account, which means they AREN’T GETTING FREE SHARES! You HAVE to do all 3 steps to get all the free shares that you are entitled to. 1. Start and account with Webull. 2. Link your bank account so you can actually send money to Webull and start investing. 3. Make your first deposit by transferring money from your bank account to your Webull investment account.
🤓A trick here that I forgot to mention in the video is that you DON’T have to invest the money that you transfer into Webull! So you actually don’t have to risk anything to get the free stocks. I did this years ago when first starting my Webull account. The fine print says you have to make a deposit, not an investment. So you can just transfer money into your account with Webull, not invest it, collect your free stocks an move on your merry way!
