Just over a week after Astra 3.5, we've already pushing Astra 3.6 out to the world.
The Astra 3.6 update is primarily about performance, and we've added some additional improvements as well with this release.
The first major update is about fixing some CLS issues. CLS, or Cumulative Layout Shift is a new metric in Google's Core Web Vitals (CWV for short), which will be used as performance benchmarks in a future update. We've made the following changes in Astra 3.6 to eliminate CLS issues.
Added the option of Locally Hosting Google Fonts (and Preload them)
Fixed CLS issues with SVG Logo Height (reupload your SVG logo to see the change)
Fixed CLS issues with Mobile Menu/Header
WooCommerce Quantity Change Buttons
For Astra Pro users, we've removed jQuery dependency for the "Scroll To Top" feature in Astra Pro, which has resulted in some impressive improvements. Watch the video for more specifics.
We're continuing to build on this and will continue removing jQuery dependencies from other Astra Pro features.
We've also made some UI/UX improvements with regards to compatibility between the Customizer and the Block Editor. Now you'll see Typography and Color changes that make in the Customizer, right inside the block editor. This will save back and forth of making changes and seeing them live, and will save you a bunch of time.
