First off I want to say this worked for me, this may not work for you. I removed the cover first there were two small screws on the side of the cover and 4 screws on top of the cover. Now lift the cover and there will be a flex cable attached to the electronic board use your tweezers on the plastic part of the flex cable close to the electronic board, wiggle it from side to side till it pops out hope this is right because I'm writing this now from memory. The electric board is held in place by 3 white rubber gaskets and 4 or 5 flex cables. Now unhook the flex cables but be careful to grab them near the electronic board because they have a thick end there to grab make sure you wiggle them out and take your time here and be careful!!!. Once you have the cables unhooked lift the board off its only held in place by those 3 white rubber gaskets and place it to the side. There is a clear plastic gasket remove that now. You will see a silver plate with 2 screws remove the screws and lift up the plate and put it to the side. Now you will see the gears and this is were I discovered the 2 gears that were striped out. They were in the middle of the gear cluster. Take lots of pictures as you remove things because if you are like me you may forget how to put it back together. One last thing I called Canon and here are the part numbers of the 2 gears that were striped out...yb2-1393-000 gear,4 and yb2-1396-000 gear,5. I wish I had filmed it, I know this is not the best video but I hope it helps you.
