Walk 001 Darwens Woods & Tower - Features a delightful stroll through the beautiful Sunnyhurst Woods, visiting many points of interest along the way. On leaving the woods and after crossing the embankment of Earnsdale Reservoir the walk then follows firm tracks to the foot of the moors. A brief stroll along the edge of the moors leads to the Jubliee Tower, Darwen's most famous monument. A climb to the top of the tower is well worth it as from there there are excellant views to the west coast, including Blackpool Tower, the mountains and hills of Wales, Yorkshire and the Lake District as well as the immediate surrounding countryside. The path then descends off the moor back to the starting point of the Sunnyhurst Woods car park.
