This is a video demonstration of a bug in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion that has existed ever since the game's first release.
If you activate a CAT-DOS or arcade machine, it is possible for a specimen to spawn when the machines are activated. If you continuously click on them over and over, it is inevitable that a random specimen will trigger in the machine at some point. This is due to the fact the game works on a "door activation" trigger system, meaning a chase is normally started after a door is opened. However, a bug in the game caused the game to think that these machines are also doors as well. Since CAT-DOS rooms and arcade rooms are considered "safe rooms", meaning an active specimen CANNOT chase in those particular rooms, any specimen that DOES get activated in the machines will NOT harm the player, and the player is in no danger. If a specimen does in fact spawn in these machines, it means you have unintentionally glitched out an entire chase sequence. However, if you activate the machines and nothing spawns in them (which is what happens 90% of the time) it means any future re-occurring chase has been sped up by two rooms, meaning a chase will start two rooms sooner than it would have. But if you happen to glitch out the chase, that specimen will NOT chase in the next room like it would have, and the chase cycle will reset.
