The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (ユニコーンガンダム Yunikōn Gandamu?, or Unicorn Gundam, Unicorn, RX-0) is the titular prototype mobile suit from the Gundam Unicorn novel, its OVA adaptation, and the television re-cut. Developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation, the machine hid a secret that could shake the future of all humanity,[1] as it was the key to opening Laplace's Box. The suit is piloted by Banagher Links after the head of the Vist Foundation and his father, Cardeas Vist, entrusted it to him at the start of the Third Neo Zeon War in U.C. 0096. [2]
Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn (Japanese: 機動戦士ガンダムUC (ユニコーン) Hepburn: Kido Senshi Gandamu Yunikōn) is a novel by popular Japanese author Harutoshi Fukui (Shusen no Lorelei, Bōkoku no Aegis, Samurai Commando: Mission 1549). The novel takes place in the Universal Century timeline of Gundam. Character and mechanical designs are provided by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Hajime Katoki, respectively.
An anime adaptation was produced by Sunrise as a seven-episode original video animation series and released between March 12, 2010 and June 6, 2014 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. It was directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi. The television rebroadcast adaptation of the anime titled Gundam Unicorn RE: 0096 began airing on April 3, 2016, replacing Beats Bravos, and becoming the first Gundam series to air on TV Asahi since Gundam X, which ended in 1996. [1] Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE: 0096 premiered on Adult Swim's Toonami block on January 7, 2017. [2]
