Big Red Camaro | Q&A
Billed as “The Original Outlaw Racer,” the Big Red Camaro began life as a 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28. But its story really takes off in the 1980s, when the father and son team of Dan and R.J. Gottlieb began transforming it into a rip snortin’ Pro Touring car. In the decades that followed, the Big Red Camaro has seen plenty of evolutions and attended plenty of events, from Bonneville to Pike’s Peak—racking up a trophy case full of recognition along the way.
We caught up with R.J. at the 2023 Detroit Autorama to get a closer look at the Camaro’s current configuration and see what’s on the horizon for The Original Outlaw Racer.
