How you can download and install a font directly on your iPad using the free app iFont.
You can then use the font on any app that supports installed fonts or use the paid app Graphic to copy and paste text to on your digital planner on GoodNotes.
Installing a new font on the iPad
1- Go to the App Store and download the app iFont
2- Go to the website where the font is located and download
3-Select ‘Open in iFont’ - This will load the app
4-Click on ‘Files’ to see your fontj
5-Select the font and click on ‘Install on iPad’
6-Click ‘allow’ and when prompted tap on ‘Install’
7- Enter your password if asked
8-Done! Now you can use that new font in any apps that support external fonts. You may need to close and reopen your app in order to see it available.
Using fonts in GoodNotes
UPDATE! GoodNotes 5 now support installed fonts - just install on your iPad, restart GoodNotes and they’ll automatically appear as an option :)
GoodNotes 4 does not support the use of installed fonts, but you can work around this by using the app Graphic, or GoodNotes 5 to copy text.
1-Follow all the previous steps to download and install a new font
2-Download the app Graphic from the App Store
3-Create a new document and add new text by clicking on the ‘T’ icon
4- Double-tap to type out your word or phrase
5- Select all text and change the font to the one you just downloaded
6- Click anywhere on the document to exit editing text mode (keeping the word selected)
7- Click on the paper clip icon (‘Edit’) on the top left menu bar
8- Select ‘Copy’
9- Go to the GoodNotes app and find the page where you want to place the text
10- Long tapa anywhere on the document and select ‘Paste’. Resize and reposition before deselecting. Done!
