In fact, King.com owner of Candy Crush sold to
Blizzard Entertainment this year for almost
$6 BILLION USD!
How can that be you ask?
Most FREE APPS have what they call
IN - APP - Purchases
For Example:
When you run out of lives, you can purchase more
In other games if you want to buy more gold to purchase
weapons, strong attacks, potions, health refills, etc. It all costs money.
Now, I know you're not like that right?
You don't play for hours and get addicted and crazy competitive
like me and start thinking "It's only $4.99 and they have bonus
double the gold coins"
Yup! I've felt the incredible pull, competition, and addiction.
I actually deleted games to save my soul.
So... #1: In app purchase
#2: Advertising - Other companies want to put their product (usually another app) in front of proven buyers like you and me. BINGO! Cha-ching!
#3: Future merchandise licensing (like the movie Angry Birds) or caps, cups, shirts, etc.
#4: Build it to Flip it strategy... like King.com selling for almost $6 Billion this year.
