On September 14, 2010, Gino was officially diagnosed with Stage IV Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (al-vee-lar rab-do-my-o-sar-coma), an aggressive cancer that started in a tumor on his right hand and spread into his Bone Marrow and left femur. Gino's treatment plan currently spans 1 year and includes chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumor, and radiation treatments. Gino and family will made many trips to the hospital over the course of last and this year for checkups and treatment at the outpatient Clinic at Akron Children's Hospital. Donations and couple of fundraising events were made for Gino.
Message From Gino's Family: "Surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, June 24 at 2pm, Gino passed away. He shed his earthly body and is free from cancer and all pain. He is dancing in Heaven with Jesus, celebrating his new role as our guardian angel. Rest in peace dear, sweet Gino. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 3-9pm at St. Mary's Church in Hudson, OH. The funeral will be on Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church in Hudson"If you know the family, before you make plans to visit them at home, please call first. The family was so grateful for all the love and support given by so many family and friends.
