Staircase
Clip of my Cylon Centurion Halloween costume (Battlestar Galactica). It took several takes for me to get my movements to not look visibly nervous, because I could see very little beneath me. I only had the slits in the mouth grille to see where I was putting my feet, and the legs of the costume were themselves causing problems: They have this slightly bent-knee effect to them that makes the knee joint jut forward a lot, which meant that I essentially had to climb the stairs on tip-toe to avoid scraping the shin plates on the next step.
The metallic sound effects are the noises centurions make in the show, in this case clipped from the U-87 in the prequel series Caprica which makes the same noises. I'm not savvy enough to do that thing where you isolate sound effects using surround sound mixes, so I just had to scour scenes until I found moments here and there where the movement sound effects had no dialogue or music covering them.
