Richard Lancaster is a local professional Perth photographer mainly focusing on portraits and fashion photography.
His well-known purple beard (pretty much his trademark) with his attitude and calmness on-set creates a trustworthy vibe. I think for models he might give a vibe of a strong father character - he takes care of models, boosts their confidence, makes them feel safe and appreciated... I know, every photographer should do that when dealing with people, but it's different. Hopefully, you can understand what I mean after seeing the interview.
As many photographers look for ways to make money in photography, he has a totally different approach - if there's too much money coming in, it's gonna be work and it takes the joy out of photography.
