How To Use the Pen Tool & Anchor Points for Perfect Paths Lecture 08?

in Adobe Photoshop, the Pen Tool is a powerful and precise tool used for creating paths and shapes by manually placing anchor points. These paths can be used for making complex selections, creating shapes, and designing smooth curves with high accuracy.

Pen Tool
Purpose: The Pen Tool is mainly used for creating paths, which can later be turned into selections or filled with colors. It’s particularly useful for tasks that require clean, crisp edges, like cutting out objects, making custom shapes, or defining precise curves.
How to Use: Select the Pen Tool from the toolbar or press P on the keyboard. Start by clicking on your canvas to place your first anchor point. Click again to place additional points, and adjust them to create a path. To make curves, click and drag each point to control the direction of the curve.
Types of Paths: You can create straight lines, curves, and even closed shapes by connecting anchor points in a continuous path.
Anchor Points
Purpose: Anchor points are like "pins" that define the shape of a path. Each path is made up of multiple anchor points connected by segments.
Control Handles: Curved anchor points come with control handles that allow you to manipulate the curve's direction and intensity. The longer the handle, the more intense the curve.
Types of Anchor Points:
Corner Point: This point has no curve handles and creates sharp, angular corners in a path.
Smooth Point: This point has two control handles that move together, creating smooth, flowing curves.
Symmetric Point: Both handles extend equally, ensuring the curve is uniform on both sides of the point.
