How to get from JFK airport to Manhattan in New York by train.
The new train line connects JFK Airport to Grand Central Station in just 20 minutes.
Simply take the AirTrain at the airport, get off at Jamaica Station, and buy the AirTrain + Train ticket.
The AirTrain fare is $8.25, and the train to Grand Central costs $7.75 (regular hours) and $13.75 (peak hours).
In my case, I paid $19 (AirTrain + train) because I used the 4:30 PM option during peak hours (more expensive).
The train line is currently in an experimental phase, operating from 6:15 AM to 8 PM (weekdays) and from 7 AM to 11 PM (weekends).
Peak hours are from 7 AM to 10 AM and from 4 PM to 8 PM, when the ticket is more expensive for the same route.
