Many software companies are developing new solutions that launch them into the world of modern cloud computing, with the benefits of modern DevOps techniques. This talk will review how PROS was able to use Gradle to automate and realize the benefits of DevOps for its pricing, selling and revenue management software solutions. Using custom Gradle plugins, PROS was able to automate the creation of reproducible environments for development and testing; create a simple, cost-effective method for enforcing software license compliance; convert many manual test cases into BDDs; and convert the release process from a 3-week manual effort to a 12-hour, no-touch process. This presentation has been designed to inspire development teams that are automating processes for applications that can be achieved quickly with minimal effort and with the correct tools.
