'Scared Stupid' by Emmi (Unofficial Video)
We took to the streets again for this one! And we did all my favourite things around London and I didn't have ANY fun. At. All. (Well...maybe a little.)
'Scared Stupid' is an ode to my anxiety and my inability (so often) to be present and in the moment in times of true happiness. Because in those moments my mind immediately switches to concentrating on how it will end and what might go wrong (Because all things come to an end right? That's a fact.) ... and through my own thoughts I steal my own joy, and sometimes the joy of the person I'm with.
In this case, the happiness of finally finding a home with someone I love and seems to love me back is immediately a source of fear for how I might lose that person.... (To someone else, to uncovering some horrible truth about them... and ultimately to death!) And this song is part funny, part very personal indeed.
