The Zoom H4N really is ready to record anything you can think of.
The H4N records wonderful stereo sound thanks to its dual mic setup. The mics are arranged in an X/Y style which can change the stereo field from 90 degrees to 120 degrees quickly and seamlessly.
This is a great way to capture stereo sound while still maintaining clear and defined center sources. You can also plug in a pair of headphones and actually change the stereo field AFTER it has been recorded, which is useful for film, video and television projects.
The H4N is great for live recording because of its included combo jacks with phantom power. Plug in mics or even a guitar or bass.
