Hidromek Dig Day in the U.K
Awesome Earthmovers really enjoyed getting to grips with Hidromek's line of equipment at U.K distributer R Bunton Ltd in the picturesque Yorkshire countryside over the weekend.
Hidromek first came to my attention only a few years ago. The Turkish manufacturer's machinery looked very asthetically pleasing and put together as well as any of the Top 5 major heavy equipment OEMs offerings. That's not just my opinion, they've won numerous awards including the coveted Red Dot Design award in both 2017 and 2018
Ankara based Hidromek was established in 1978, initially producing attachments for agricultural tractors. Expansion of their product range over the last 40 years has grown to include backhoe loaders, hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders and compaction equipment. Hidromek say their equipment is working in more than 100 countries and 5 continents.
R Bunton Ltd hosted a dig day to show off the Hidromek line of equipment on Saturday July 6th at their depot near Bradford in Yorkshire. Equipment available to test drive included excavators ranging from 14 up to 30 tonnes, the 26 tonne HMK640 wheel loader and the new HMK 102 B SUPRA backhoe loader. Being an excavator operator primarily I opted to try the short radius HMK145 LCSR.
The HMK145 is one of Hidromek's new line of high-performance H4 series excavators which have an increased working speed achieved in part by changing the diameter and pressures of hydraulic cylinders, which helps to produce more work with less fuel. In cab, which Hidromek say aims to make the operator feel as comfortable and relaxed as in an office, you get a touchscreen monitor. It's always hard to evaluate a piece of equipment without spending a week on it but I settled into the 145's comfortable cabin very quickly. The machine was fast, smooth and precise. Grading with it was very easy even at full reach. The excavator uses the proven and reliable Japanese designed Isuzu engine and the tilting cabin also provides quick access to hydraulic equipment, which enables easier service and maintenance. #hidromek #excavator #wheelloader
