For those searching for a reliable SHAFT DRIVE DIESEL powered sport cruiser, then the Camargue 44 is a rare find. Most Australian sport cruisers in this category are stern or POD Drive systems.

The Sunseeker brand is very well known in WA and the Camargue range is probably one of the most popular models of this era still scooting around the Mediterranean. There are literally hundreds out there and dozens on the market at any one time. Unfortunately for buyers there is only the one available for sale in Australia at this time and we have her for sale right here in WA.

Her engines were rebuilt back in 2016. She starts on the button and doesn't miss a beat. I thoroughly enjoyed taking her out off Fremantle recently to see just how she performed. I must admit I was really quite comfortable behind the helm. A very relaxed position, the only thing missing was a Gin and Tonic. I was on my own at the time but I could still see how the level cockpit floor and multiple seating arrangements would be perfect for socialising. A solid teak deck really sets off the decor and a clever table design means it can be tucked away under the lounge in seconds if you prefer a clear deck. All of her upholstery is in good condition. The rear lounge converts to a sunbed at the flip of the backrest.

There have also been many other upgrades in recent years including digital TV's, Fusion stereo systems, Raymarine Touch Screen Multifunctiuon displays and more.

Her current owner can't believe how well she rides on his usual run between Fremantle and Longreach Bay, handling the strong sea breeze effortlessly. Even getting in her berth is apparently easier than his last Pod Drive boat. A bow thruster certainly ads to the manoeuvrability.

For those who love the Mediterranean styling produced by companies such as Fairline, Azimut and Princess, the Sunseeker Camargue 44 is a strong competitor. In my experience this hull design is far better suited to our WA sea conditions than many of our locally designed brands.

I guess potential buyers in this price bracket may also be looking at Riviera M400's, M430's, Mustang 4600's and Sea Rays. All a compromise in comparison to say the least and without the prestige of Sunseekers world class appeal.
