A Pro Microphone For Everyone: The Yeti Studio / Blue Sona (A Real SM7B Alternative)
The world of podcast, broadcast, and streaming microphones has gotten shockingly competitive lately. Amidst all of this, the Shure SM7B has Shure managed to weather the storm. But a new option recently blew onto the scene: The Blue Sona (also known as the Yeti Studio).
Even though a lot of mics try to outperform the SM7B, I think this is the first time one might have actually succeeded. So let’s look at why the Blue Sona BLUE me away.
As of now, the Sona is one of my top recommendations for most people looking to upgrade to a high quality XLR microphone. As I say towards the end of the video, it's not that the Sona is better than the SM7B, but it's better at taking everything great about the SM7B and making it more accessible to more people.
