All about lactose intolerance

The body needs enzymes to break down lactose in milk. About 85 percent of people lose these enzymes in infancy. That's why, as we get older, the body develops lactose intolerance or allergy. It triggers an inflammatory response in the body. If you suffer from bloating, nausea, or flatulence, you should limit your intake.

The Effect of Milk on Hormones

As we know, our diet and lifestyle influence hormones, which in turn influence our skin. Acne that appears during the menstrual cycle confirms this. "Cow's milk and dairy products contain casein and whey protein, which increase levels of a certain hormone (insulin-like growth factor-1, or IGF-1). It's associated with increased sebum production, which causes acne. Studies have shown that people with acne have higher levels of the hormone IGF-1. It has also been established that the more sugar, dairy, and carbohydrates in the diet, the more frequently people experience skin conditions.

Milk and Insulin Levels

When the body digests milk, the proteins it contains are broken down and converted into hormones very similar to insulin. The higher the insulin level, the more susceptible we are to infections and inflammatory processes, including those affecting the skin. Inflammatory skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and rosacea are the most common.
