Two philosophies, one shared respect: Simeone and Guardiola
Jorge Valdano recounts when Diego "Cholo" Simeone traveled to Barcelona to observe Pep Guardiola's Barça training sessions. After practice, the two coaches met to discuss football. Simeone, after hearing Guardiola's philosophy of control and attack, was completely honest: "Pep, this isn't for me." Guardiola, far from judging him, valued his authenticity and emphasized that a coach's greatest virtue is being true to his own feelings and ideas.
