Ep2 Cropping To Create Powerful Portraits - Adobe Lightroom Develop
Cropping can create more powerful portraits as different crops can produce slightly different 'feels' to a portrait. You, as a photographer can use this to create the kind of 'feel' you want in any particular portrait.
Not only does cropping normally 'zooms in' on the subject to bring more attention, but creative cropping to place the subject away from the centre of the photo can result in a more arresting portrait.
This tutorial demonstrates only a tiny fraction of the vast variaties of cropping you can employ, but hopefully it will nudge you to experiment more with your own imagery...
And, of course you can 'crop' in-camera as well! Personally, I do a bit of both, but it is really down to how you want to create...
