What is Trend FX?
It’s a special HMI object that allows you to display two variables on a single diagram, making it easier to compare and analyze live data.
Configuring Properties
In the General settings, you can enable rulers, load data immediately, and choose whether the trend is always online. You can also define X-axis and Y-axis names, set value ranges, choose scaling (linear or logarithmic), and configure the update cycle (e.g., 500 ms).
Source Types
Trend FX can display data from either tags (real-time values) or logging tags (historical data). This flexibility means you can use it both for short-term monitoring and for recorded process analysis.
Runtime Demonstration
I showed how changing tag values (e.g., X = 1, 5, 15, Y = 2, 16, etc.) dynamically updates the chart. You can immediately see the curves moving, which gives a clear visualization of how variables interact over time.
Why does this matter?
Because in industrial automation, monitoring live values visually is much faster than reading numbers. Whether you’re troubleshooting, fine-tuning a process, or just keeping an eye on performance, Trend FX gives operators real-time insight with a simple chart.
