Improve Performance and Speed of Microsoft Edge Browser | Tips Settings Tweaks
I personalize Microsoft Edge settings in these ways to improve performance and speed of Edge browser.
★ Open Microsoft Edge, click three dots on top right then Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data. Here, Turn ON the toggle of ‘Preload pages for faster browsing and searching’ option.
★ You should also turn ON ‘Preload the new tab page for a faster experience’. (Settings → Start, home, and new tabs → New tab page.)
★ Click ‘System and performance’ and Turn ON the toggle button next to ‘Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed’ option.
★ Turn ON the Startup Boost. It helps quickly load the start page in background.
★ Turn ON the buttons, next to ‘Save resources with sleeping tabs’ and ‘Fade sleeping tabs’.
★ Here, you should also Turn ON the toggle next to ‘Use hardware acceleration when available’ option. (It will enhance your productivity in resource demanding apps, opened in Edge such as Canva app.)
★ If Edge is slow or often crashes, it might be due to other resource demanding programs or websites running in your computer. Therefore, try closing Photoshop, or video editing software and YouTube, when you are not using them.
★ Remove unwanted and unused extensions in Edge. (You can access the tweak here: Click three dots … on top right corner → Extensions.)
★ Delete cookies, cache and other data if you notice slow performance of Edge on your computer.
★ Boost system memory of your device especially RAM and SSD or add a graphics card in your PC.
