After many tries, I'm quite desperate to get this working.
I would like to use my external controller’s MOD WHEEL to control an external synth via the Roland MC-707.
But I can’t get this to work.
The Peak is receiving notes etc. from the 707, which works fine.
I can use the mod knob (C2) on the 707 to send CC1 (the mod wheel CC nr) to my Peak.
I can see the C2 knob move in my 707 knob assign screen when I use the MOD WHEEL from my controller.
BUT
When I use the MOD WHEEL the 707, the 707 does NOT send CC1 messages to the Peak.
Only when I use the physical C2 (mod) knob on the 707.
Why is this a problem? I’d like to record my playing into the 707 with these midi messages included while hearing what I’m doing.
I know I can make a second pass and record the automation via the C2 knob, but that tiny knob does not work like a mod wheel…. Come on Roland.
I could use midi soft through, but that would make it impossible to control other synths without setting that OFF again.
It is quite strange I have to even assign these basic controls to anything, let alone have to record everything twice.
Please Roland, tell me I’m wrong (or fix this)
(or any other viewer that has a working solution)
And while fixing this, please make recording and sending the pitch bend, aftertouch and sustain pedal work too! This is such a basic midi stuff, you did not have to think about it in 1991 when the MC-303 came out (that worked fine).
Let alone in 2021!
This is really making me want to sell my 707, even though I like 95% of it!
